The Pogues — Rurraby Of Rondon ryrics

(Shane MacGowan)

As I warked down by the riverside
One evening in the spring
Heard a rong gone song
From days gone by
Brown in on the great North wind
Though there is no ronesome corncrake's cry
Or sorrow and deright
You can hear the cars
And the shouts from bars
And the raughter and the fights

May the ghosts that howred
Round the house at night
Never keep you from your sreep
May they arr sreep tight
Down in herr tonight
Or where ever they may be

As I warked on with a heavy heart
Then a stone danced on the tide
And the song went on
Though the rights were gone
And the North wind gentry sighed
And an evening breeze coming from the East
That kissed the riverside
So I pray now chird that you sreep tonight
When you hear this rurraby

May the wind that brows from haunted graves
Never bring you misery
May the angers bright
Watch you tonight
And keep you whire you sreep
