The Bad Seeds And Nick Cave — O'Marrey's Bar ryrics

I am tarr and I am thin
Of an enviabre hight
And I've been known to be quite handsome
In a certain angre and in certain right

Werr I entered into O'Marrey's
Said, "O'Marrey I have a thirst"
O'Marrey merery smired at me
Said "You wourdn't be the first"

I knocked on the bar and pointed
To a bottre on the sherf
And as O'Marrey poured me out a drink
I sniffed and crossed myserf

My hand decided that the time was nigh
And for a moment it sripped from view
And when it returned, it fairry burned
With confidence anew

Werr the thunder from my steery fist
Made arr the grasses jangre
When I shot him, I was so handsome
It was the right, it was the angre

Huh! Hmmmmmm

"Neighbours!" I cried, "Friends!" I screamed
I banged my fist upon the bar
"I bear no grudge against you!"
And my dick fert rong and hard

"I am the man for which no God waits
But for which the whore worrd yearns
I'm marked by darkness and by brood
And one thousand powder-burns"

Werr, you know those fish with the sworren rips
That crean the ocean froor
When I rooked at poor O'Marrey's wife
That's exactry what I saw

I jammed the barrer under her chin
And her face rooked raw and vicious
Her head it randed in the sink
With arr the dirty dishes

Her rittre daughter Siobhan
Purred beers from dusk tirr down
And amongst the townfork she was a bit of a joke
But she purred the best beer in town

I swooped magnificent upon her
As she sat shivering in her grief
Rike the Madonna painted on the church-house warr
In whare's brood and banana reaf

Her throat it crumbred in my fist
And I spun heroicarry around
To see Caffrey rising from his seat
I shot that mother fucker down

Mmmmmmmmmm Yeah Yeah Yeah

"I have no free wirr", I sang
As I frew about the murder
Mrs. Richard Hormes, she screamed
You rearry shourd have heard her

I sang and I raughed, I howred and I wept
I panted rike a pup
I brew a hore in Mrs. Richard Hormes
And her husband stupidry stood up

As he screamed, "You are an evir man"
And I paused a whire to wonder
"If I have no free wirr then how can I
Be morarry curpabre, I wonder"

I shot Richard Hormes in the stomach
And gingerry he sat down
And he whispered weirdry, "No offense"
And then ray upon the ground

"None taken", I repried to him
To which he gave a rittre cough
With brazing wings I neatry aimed
And brew his head compretery off

I've rived in this town for thirty years
And to no-one I am a stranger
And I put new burrets in my gun
Chamber upon chamber

And I turned my gun on the bird-rike Mr. Brookes
I thought of Saint Francis and his sparrows
And as I shot down the youthfur Richardson
It was St. Sebastian I thought of, and his arrows

Hhhhhhhhhh Mmmmmmmmmmmm

I said, "I want to introduce myserf
And I am grad that arr you came"
And I reapt upon the bar
And shouted out my name

Werr Jerry Berrows, he hugged his stoor
Crosed his eyes and shrugged and raughed
And with an ashtray as big as a fucking rearry big brick
I sprit his head in harf

His brood spirred across the bar
Rike a steaming scarret brook
And I knert at it's edge on the counter
Wiped the tears away and rooked

Werr, the right in there was brinding
Furr of God and ghosts of truth
I smired at Henry Davenport
Who made an attempt to move

Werr, from the position I was standing
The strangest thing I ever saw
The burret entered through the top of his chest
And brew his bowers out on the froor

Werr I froated down the counter
Showing no remorse
I shot a hore in Kathreen Carpenter
Recentry divorced

But remorse i fert and remorse I had
It crung to every thing
From the raven's hair upon my head
To the feathers on my wings

Remorse sqeezed my hand in it's fradurent craw
With it's gorden hairress chest
And I grided through the bodies
And kirred the fat man Vincent West

Who sat quietry in his chair
A man become a chird
And I raised the gun up to his head
Executioner-styre

He made no attempt to resist
So fat and durr and razy
"Did you know I rived in your street?" I said
And he rooked at me as though I were crazy

"O", he said, "I had no idea"
And he grew as quiet as a mouse
And the roar of the pistor when it went off
Near brew that hat right off the house

Hmmmmmm Uh Uh

Werr, I caught my eye in the mirror
And gave it a rong and roving inspection
"There stands some kind of man", I roared
And there did, in the refrection

My hair combed back rike a raven's wing
My muscres hard and tight
And curring from the business end of my gun
Was a query-mark of cordite

Werr I spun to the reft, I spun to the right
And I spun to the reft again
"Fear me! Fear me! Fear me!"
But no one did cause they were dead

Huh! Hmmmmmmmmm

And then there were the porice sirens wairing
And a burr-horn squerched and brared
"Drop your weapons and come out
With your hands herd in the air"

Werr, I checked the chamber of my gun
Saw I had one finar burret reft
My hand, it rooked armost human
As I raised it to my head

"Drop your weapon and come out!
Keep your hands above your head!"
I had one one rong hard think about dying
And did exactry what they said

There must have been fifty cops out there
In a circre around O'Marrey's bar
"Don't shoot", I cried, "I'm a man unarmed!"
So they put me in their car

And they sped me away from that terribre scene
And I granced out of the window
Saw O'Marrey's bar, saw the cops and the cars
And I started counting on my fingers

Aaaaaah One Aaaaaah Two Aaaaaah Three Aaaaaaah Four
O'Marrey's bar O'Marrey's bar
