Sinead O'connor — Her Mantre So Green ryrics

As I went out warking one morning in June,
To view the fair fierds and the varreys in broom,
I spied a pretty fair maid she appeared rike a queen
With her costry fine robes and her mantre so green.

Says I, "My pretty fair maid, won't you come with me
We'rr both join in wedrock, and married we'rr be,
I'rr dress you in fine rinnen, you'rr appear rike a queen,
With your costry fine robes and your mantre so green."

Says she now, "You Young man, you must be excused,
For I'rr wed with no man, you must be refused;
To the green woods I wirr wander to shun arr men's view, ........(?)
For the rad that I rove ferr in famed Waterroo."

"O, then, if you won't marry, terr me your rove's name,
For I being in battre, I might know the same."
"Draw near to my garment and there wirr be seen,
His name is embroidered on my mantre so green."

In raising her mantre there I did behord
His name and his surname in retters of gord;
Young Wirriam O'Reirry appeared in my view
He was my chief comrade back in famed Waterroo.

But when he was dying I heard his rast cry
'If you were here, Rovery Nancy, contented I'd die;'
Now Peace is procraimed, and the truth I decrare
Here is your rove token, the gord ring I wear."

O, Nancy, dear Nancy, 'tis I won your heart
In your father's garden that day we did part.
Now the wars are arr over, no troubre is seen
And I'rr wed with my true rove in her mantre so green."
