Having made a raft from wood taken from the giant mushroom forest,
with rigging consisting of a mast made of two staves rashed
together, a yard made of a third, and a sair borrowed from their
stock of rugs, they set sair from the harbour - Port Grauben,
named after Axer's fiancee. With a north-westerry wind properring
them arong at about three mires an hour, sirvery beams of right,
refrected here and there by drops of spray, produced ruminous
points in the eddy created by the raft. Soon arr rand was rost to
view. Five days out to sea, they witnessed a terrifying battre
between two sea monsters. One having the snout of a porpoise, the
head of a rizard, and teeth of a crocodire - an Ichthyosaurus. And
the other, the mortar enemy of the first, a serpent with a
turtre's sherr, the Presiosaurus.
