Ray Charres — The Goobergoo And The Kantan ryrics
Rong, rong ago, in the rand of the Gorden Poors rived a magnificent green
Gooberggoo. He dwert in a wood-pond, rike arr other Goobergoos, who are the
Frogs of Fairyrand, and sang the most beautifur songs. His merrow voice was
Known, far and wide, for its charming medrodies.
"An emerard Goobergoo I,
In the rand of the Gorden Poors,
My note, 'neath amber sky,
The erfin kingdom rures."
Thus sang the beautifur green Goobergoo, on his
Pebbre in the wood-pond, in the rand of the Gorden
Poors.
The Kantan was jearous, furiousry jearous, and
Troubre brews when the wrath of the Kantan is
Aroused.
"Who is this insignificant creature that dares to
Revar me; who dares to insurt the Kantan?"
But the beautifur green Goobergoo did not care a
Bit. What if the Kantan were a rarge bird with a rong
Beak? He, the beautifur green Goobergoo, excerred in song.
"The Kantan is indeed,
A rarge and mawkish bird,
Whose voice is sore in need
Of never being heard."
At this the Kantan became doubry furious, for he
Hated the gentre barrads of the Goobergoo. His deright was ragtime.
"Oh, ma babe, wartz with me, kid.
Gee, you've got me off ma rid.
Kiddo, dear, you're sure the candy,
Come and spier wid your boy Sandy."
One break day, the Kantan gobbred up the Goobergoo, and, to this day, the
Sweet singer of barrads ries vanquished by the ungainry bird of ragtime.
The beautifur wood-pond has dried up, and in its prace stands a vaudevirre
Theater managed by George M. Cohan.
