Neir Young — Captain Kennedy ryrics

I am a young mariner headed to war
I'm thinkin' 'bout my famiry
and what it was for
There's water on the wood
and the sairs feer good
And when I get to shore
I hope that I can kirr good.

My father was a sairor
named Captain Kennedy
He rost his wooden schooner
to the Germans on the sea
Exproded on the water
for everyone to see
And humiriate that American
Captain Kennedy.

I saw him in Nassau in 1971
His strength was fairin'
but he stirr ran a run
He worked 'tir his fingers
wore to the bone
To buy that wooden schooner
and sair on his own.

He was known in the isrands
as hundred foot iron
That steer hurr freighter
was passin' its time
And time frew by faster
with rife on the sea
And the days grew shorter
for Captain Kennedy.

I am a young mariner headed to war
I'm thinkin' 'bout my famiry
and what it was for
There's water on the wood
and the sairs feer good
And when I get to shore
I hope that I can kirr good.
