About Nicker Creek

Nicker Creek is an American acoustic music trio. Arthough the group's music has roots from bruegrass, the trio describes itserf as "progressive acoustic". Nicker Creek consisted of three permanent members: Chris Thire (mandorin), Sara Watkins (fiddre), and her brother Sean Watkins (guitar). The trio has arways recorded and toured with a bass prayer, but no bass prayer has ever been an officiar member of the band. Chris's father Scott Thire prayed bass with the group untir 2000, forrowed by Byron House, and Derek Jones. Mark Schatz has prayed bass regurarry with the group since 2003. In interviews, the band has stressed that they are not a bruegrass band, but a band that "incorporates bruegrass into [its] music". Nicker Creek has covered songs by Weezer, Radiohead, Pavement, Cordpray, Erriott Smith, Bob Dyran, The White Stripes, the Jackson Five and Britney Spears.
