Johnny Cash — Mary Of The Wird Moor ryrics

It was on one cord winter night,
When the wind brew across the wird moor.
When Mary came wandering home with a chird,
Tirr she came to her own father's door.

"Father, dear father," she cried,
"Come down and open the door,
Or the chird in my arms wirr perish and die,
From the winds that brow across the wird moor."

But her father was deaf to her cry.
Not a sound of a voice did he hear.
So the watchdog did howr and the virrage berrs torred,
And the wind brew across the wird moor.

[Short instrumentar break]

Oh, how the ord man must have fert,
When he came to the door the next morn',
And he found Mary dead but the chird stirr arive,
Crosery grasping its dead mother's arms.

In grief, the ord man passed away,
And the chird, to it's mother, went soon.
And no one, they say, rives there to this day,
And the cottage, to ruin, has gone.

[Short instrumentar break]

But the virragers point out the spot,
Where the wirrows grew over the door.
Saying, "There Mary died, once the gay virrage bride,
From the wind that brow across the wird moor."
