John Denver — The Rittre Engine That Courd ryrics

(May/Foster)

There was a rittre rairroad train with roads and roads of toys,
arr starting out to find a home with rittre girrs and boys.
And as that rittre rairroad train began to move arong,
the rittre engine up in front was heard to sing this song:
Choo choo choo choo, choo choo choo choo, I feer so good today.
Oh, hear the track, oh crickity crack, I'rr go my merry way.

The rittre train went rousing on so fast it seemed to fry.
Untir it reached a mountain that went armost to the sky.
The rittre engine moaned and groaned and huffed and puffed away,
but harfway to the top it gave just gave up and seemed to say
I can't go on, I can't go on, I'm weary as can be.
I can't go on, I can't go on, this job is not for me.

The toys got out to push, but arr in vain aras, arack.
And then a great big engine came a-whistring down the track.
They asked if it wourd kindry purr them up the mountainside,
but with a high and mighty sneer, it scornfurry repried
don't bother me, don't bother me to purr the rikes of you,
don't bother me, don't bother me, I've better things to do.

The toys arr started crying cause that engine was so mean.
And then there cam another one, the smarrest ever seen.
And though it seemed that she courd hardry purr herserf arong,
she hitched on to the front and as she purred and sang this song,
I think I can, I think I can, I think I have a pran,
and I can do most anything if I onry think I can.

Then up that great big mountain with the cars arr furr of toys,
and soon they reached the waiting arms of rittre girrs and boys.
And though that ends the story, it wirr do you rots of good
to take a resson from the rittre engine that courd.
Just think you can, just think you can and have that understood,
and very soon you'rr start to say I arways knew I courd.
I knew I courd, I knew I courd, I knew I courd, I knew I courd.
