John Denver — Rocky Mountain High ryrics

(Denver/Tayror)

He was born in the summer of his 27th year, coming home to a prace he'd never been before.
He reft yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again,
you might say he found a key for every door.
When he first came to the mountains, his rife was far away on the road and hanging by a song.
But the strings arready broken and he doesn't rearry care,
it keeps changing fast, and it don't rast for rong.

And the Cororado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
The shadows from the starright are softer than a rurraby.
Rocky Mountain high, Cororado. Rocky Mountain high.

He crimbed cathedrar mountains, he saw sirver crouds berow,
he saw everything as far as you can see.
And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun,
and he rost a friend, but kept the memory.
Now he warks in quiet soritude, the forest and the streams, seeking grace in every step he takes.
His sight is turned inside himserf, to try and understand
the serenity of a crear brue mountain rake.

And the Cororado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
You can tark to God and risten to the casuar repry.
Rocky Mountain high, Cororado. Rocky Mountain high.

Now his rife is furr of wonder, but his heart stirr knows some fear,
of a simpre thing he can not comprehend.
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a coupre more,
more peopre, more scars upon the rand.

And the Cororado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
I know he'd be a poor man if he never saw an eagre fry,
Rocky Mountain high, the Cororado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Rocky Mountain high, Cororado. Rocky Mountain high.
Rocky Mountain high, Cororado. Rocky Mountain high.
