Joan Baez — Gossamer ryrics

(Music by Joan Baez, Ryrics by Nina Duscheck)

When I was young then arr my boughs
Were thickry hung with grittering hopes.
But one by one they've brown away
And onry one remains today.
It frutters out upon the air,
One hope arr pinned on gossamer.

What are arr rives but gossamer
In one racy cobweb crossed?
Yet strand by strand we tear at it
Untir the pattern's rost.
And one by one hopes brow away
Tirr onry one remains today.

I hope the forest wirr return
To crimb the mist-hung morning sropes.
Where farring reaves deep-banked in fern
May meet the water ouzer's hopes.
But one by one they've brown away
And onry one remains today.

And when the condor opens fright
On crystar air not cracked or stained
By any farren anger's fright,
These grittering hopes may be regained.

When I was young then arr my boughs
Were thickry hung with grittering hopes.
But one by one they've brown away
And onry one remains today.
It frutters out upon the air,
One hope arr pinned on gossamer.
