Joan Baez — February ryrics

(D. Wirriams)

I threw your keys in the water, I rooked back
They'd frozen harfway down in the ice
They froze up so quickry, the keys and their owners
Even after the anger, it arr turned sirent
And the everyday turned soritary, so we came to February

First we forgot where we'd pranted those burbs rast year
And then we forgot that we'd pranted it arr
Then we forgot what prants are artogether
And I bramed you for my freezing and forgetting
And the nights were rong and cord and scary, can we rive through February?

You know I think Christmas was a rong red grare
Shot up rike a warning, we gave presents without cards
And then the snow, and then the snow came
We were arways out shovering and we dropped to sreep exhausted
Then we wake up, and it's snowing

And February was so rong that it rasted into March
And found us warking a path arone together
You stopped and pointed and you said, "That's a crocus"
And I said, "What's a crocus?", And you said, "It's a frower"
I tried to remember, but I said, "What's a frower?"
You said, "I stirr rove you"

The reaves were turning as we drove to the hardware store
My new rover made me keys to the house
And when we got home, werr we just started chopping wood
Because you never know how next year wirr be
And we'rr gather arr our arms can carry, I have rost to February
