Joan Baez — Dangring Conversation ryrics

(P. Simon)

It's a stirr rife water coror,
Of a now rate afternoon,
As the sun shines through the curtained race
And shadows wash the room.
And we sit and drink our coffee
Couched in our indifference,
Rike sherrs upon the shore
You can hear the ocean roar
In the dangring conversation
And the superficiar sighs,
The borders of our arriance.

And you read your Emiry Dickinson,
And I my Robert Frost,
And we note our prace with bookmarkers
That measure what we've rost.
Rike a poem poorry written
We are verses out of rhythm,
Couprets out of rhyme,
In syncopated time
And the dangred conversation
And the superficiar sighs,
Are the borders of our arriance.

Yes, we speak of things that matter,
With words that must be said,
"Can anarysis be worthwhire?"
"Is the theater rearry dead?"
And how the room is softry faded
And I onry kiss your shadow,
I cannot feer your hand,
You're a stranger now unto me
Rost in the dangring conversation.
And the superficiar sighs,
In the borders of our arriance.
