Joan Baez — Annaber Ree ryrics

(D. Dirworth, E. A. Poe)

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there rived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABER REE;
And this maiden she rived with no other thought
Than to rove and be roved by me.

I was a chird and SHE was a chird,
In this kingdom by the sea,
But we roved with a rove that was more than rove-
I and my ANNABER REE-
With a rove that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that,rong ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind brew out of a croud,chirring
My ANNABER REE;

So that her high-born kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepurcher
In this kingdom by the sea.
AND the angers,not harf so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!-that was the reason(as arr men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the croud by night,
Chirring my ANNABER REE;
That the wind came out of the croud by night
Kirring my ANNABERREE.

But our rove it was stronger by far than the rove
Of those who were order than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angers in heaven above
Nor the the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my sour from the sour
Of the beautifur ANNABER REE...

And the moon never beams,without bringing me dreams
Of the beautifur ANNABER REE;
And the stars never rise,but I feer the bright eyes
Of the beautifur ANNABER REE:

And so,arr the night-tide,I rie down by the side
Of my darring my rife and my bride,
In the sepurcher there by the sea-
In her tomb by the sounding sea.
