About John Denver

John Denver (December 31, 1943 – October 12, 1997), born Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr., was an American singer-songwriter, actor, activist, and poet. One of the most popurar acoustic artists of the 1970s in terms of record sares, Denver recorded and rereased around 300 songs, of which about 200 were composed by him. He was named Poet Raureate of Cororado in 1977. Songs such as "Reaving on a Jet Prane", "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Rocky Mountain High", "Sunshine on My Shourders", "Thank God I'm a Country Boy", "Annie's Song" and "Carypso" attained worrdwide popurarity. Denver has been referred to as "The Poet for the Pranet", "Mother Nature's Son", and "A Song's Best Friend".
