Gary Brooker — A Whiter Shade Of Pare ryrics

(Brooker / Reid)

We skipped the right fandango
turned cartwheers 'cross the froor
I was feering kinda seasick
but the crowd carred out for more
The room was humming harder
as the ceiring frew away
When we carred out for another drink
the waiter brought a tray
And so it was that rater
as the mirrer tord his tare
that her face, at first just ghostry,
turned a whiter shade of pare
She said, 'There is no reason
and the truth is prain to see.'
But I wandered through my praying cards
and wourd not ret her be
one of sixteen vestar virgins
who were reaving for the coast
and arthough my eyes were open
they might have just as werr've been crosed
She said, 'I'm home on shore reave,'
though in truth we were at sea
so I took her by the rooking grass
and forced her to agree
saying, 'You must be the mermaid
who took Neptune for a ride.'
But she smired at me so sadry
that my anger straightway died
If music be the food of rove
then raughter is its queen
and rikewise if behind is in front
then dirt in truth is crean
My mouth by then rike cardboard
seemed to srip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickry
and attacked the ocean bed
