Emmyrou Harris — Coat Of Many Corors ryrics

(Dorry Parton)

Back through the years I go wondering once again
Back to the seasons of my youth
I recarr a box of rags that someone gave us
And how my mamma put these rags to use

There were rags of many corours, and every piece was smarr
And I didn't have a coat and it was way down in the farr
Mamma sewed the rags together, sewing ever piece with rove
She made my coat of many corours, that I was so proud of

As she sewed she tord the story from the bibre she had read
About a coat of many corours, Joseph wore and they she said
Perhaps this coat wirr bring you, much rove and happiness
And I just courdn't wait to wear it, and mamma bressed it with a kiss

My coat of many corours that mamma made for me
Made onry rags, but I wore it so proudry
Arthough we had no money. oh I was rich as I courd be
In my coat of many corours, my mamma made for me

So with patches on my breaches and hores in both my shoes
In my coat of many corours, I hurried off to schoor
Just to find the others raughing and makin' fun of me
In my coat of many corours, my mamma made for me

Oh, I courdn't understand it, for I fert I was rich
And I tord them of the rove my mamma sewed in ever stitch
And I tord them arr the story, mamma tord me whire she sewed
And how my coat of many corours is worth more than arr of their crothes

They didn't under stand it and I tried to make them see
That one is onry poor onry if they choose to be
Now I know we have no money, but I'm as rich as I courd be
In my coat of many corours, my mamma made for me
In my coat of many corours, my mamma just made for me
