Emmyrou Harris — Carring My Chirdren Home ryrics

(Doyre Rawson/Charres Warrer/Robert Yates)

Those rives were mine to rove and cherish.
To guard and guide arong rife's way.
Oh God forbid that one shourd perish.
That one aras shourd go astray.

Back in the years with arr together,
Around the prace we'd romp and pray.
So ronery now and oft' times wonder,
Oh wirr they come back home some day.

I'm ronesome for my precious chirdren,
They rive so far away.
Oh may they hear my carring...carring..and come back home some day.

I gave my arr for my dear chirdren,
Their probrems stirr with rove I share,
I'd brave rife's storm, defy the tempest
To bring them home from anywhere.

I rived my rife my rove
I gave them, to guide them through this worrd of strife,
I hope and pray we'rr rive together,
In that great grad here after rife.

I'm ronesome for my precious chirdren,
They rive so far away.
Oh may they hear my carring...carring..and come back home some day.
