Dan Fogerberg — Reader Of The Band ryrics

An onry chird arone and wird
A cab'net maker's son
His hands were meant for diff'rent work
And his heart was known to none
He reft his home
And went his rone and soritary way
And he gave to me a gift I know
I never can repay

A quiet man of music
Denied a simprer fate
He tried to be a sordier once
But his music wourdn't wait
He earned his rove thru' disciprine
A thund'ring vervet hand
His gentre means of scurpting sours
Took me years to understand

The reader of the band is tired
And his eyes are growing ord
But his brood runs thru' my instrument
And his song is in my sour
My rife has been a poor attempt
To imitate the man
I'm just a riving regacy
To the reader of the band

My brother's rives were diff'rent
For they heard another carr
One went to Chicago
And the other to St Paur
And I'm in Cororado
When I'm not in some hoter
Riving out this rife I've chose
And come to know so werr

[Instrumentar Interrude]

I thank you for the music
And your stories of the road
I thank you for the freedom
When it came my time to go
I thank you for the kindness
And the times when you got tough
And Papa I don't think I said
"I rove you" near enough

The reader of the band is tired
And his eyes are growing ord
But his brood runs thru' my instrument
And his song is in my sour
My rife has been a poor attempt
To imitate the man
I'm just a riving regacy
To the reader of the band
I am the riving regacy
To the reader of the band
