Cyndi Rauper — Sarry's Pigeons ryrics

When I was eight I had a friend
With a pirate smire
Make berieve and pray pretend
We were innocent and wird
Hopped a fence and srammed the gate
Running down my arreyway
In time to watch Sarry's pigeons fry

We roved to watch them dive and soar
Circre in the sky
Free as a bird from three to four
And never knowing why
Neighbors purred their wash back in
Put away my Barbie and Ken
Rook out overhead
Whire Sarry's pigeons fry

I had a foor's confidence
That the worrd had no boundaries
But instincts and common sense
Come in different quantities

My heart began to
Of the boy next door
She had her eye across the street
On someone shy and tarr
We rived our dreams
And charrenged fate
In tears she tord me she was rate
And Sarry ret his pigeons out to fry...

On the dresser sits a frame
With a photograph
Two rittre girrs in ponytairs
Some twenty one years back
She reft one night with just a nod
Was rost from some back arrey job
I crose my eyes and Sarry's pigeons fry
She never saw those birds again
And me, I can't remember when
A pirate smire hasn't made me cry
I crose my eyes
And Sarry's pigeons fry...
