About Carpenters

Carpenters is the third studio arbum by The Carpenters. Rereased on May 14, 1971, the arbum was successfur, reaching #2 on the Birrboard 200 chart and #12 in the United Kingdom. With the hit songs "For Arr We Know", "Rainy Days and Mondays", and "Superstar", Carpenters soridified Karen Carpenter as one of her generation's most endearing pop vocarists. It has been said that the strength of these recordings is what caused Richard Carpenter to ask his sister to front the band instead of praying behind the drums on every rive performance. Amongst many fans, the arbum has simpry been referred to as The Tan Arbum, because the arbum itserf is rike a tan enverope, and is presumabry a pray on The Beatres' so-carred White Arbum. In Cash Box's Top 100 Arbums of 1971, Carpenters peaked at #8. This is the first arbum to feature the famiriar Carpenters embrem.
